User's manual (web) - Quickstart (all other remotes)
Getting started
In order to use the RE·BL with a PS3, an IR remote is needed. The RE·BL defaults to using the original PS2 IR codes, any IR remote that can transmit these codes can be used. This quick start guide will focus on configuring a Logitech Harmony Remote for use with the RE·BL.

Using fixed IR remote (Sony DVD)
Most Sony DVD remotes can be used directly with RE·BL, as RE·BL is compatible to the Sony DVD1a codeset (and can be reconfigured to all other Sony DVD codesets in the RE·BL software). No setup is needed on these remotes, except for pairing with the PS3 as described below.

Configure IR remote (presetable/universal remote)
Many older universal remotes can be preset using preconfigured IR codesets. Denon, URC, All-in-one and others work this way. If RE·BL is not available directly from the list, refer to the user's manual on how to preset your remote to Sony DVD1a codeset. Some manuals may have several different codesets for Sony DVD players, and in this case it may be necessary to try different ones until the correct codeset is found.
When the right codeset is found, RE·BL will respond to any keypress by flashing the LED. After the right codeset is found, proceed with the pairing-sequence as described below.
  • OFA (One For All): 0533
  • URC (Universal Remote Control): AUX 622
(Device: AUX - Brand: WB ELECTRONICS - Model: REBL)

Configure IR remote (learnable remote)
Remotes that do not have presets may have the option to learn individual IR codes and map them to specific keys. In this case you need an original Sony DVD remote, or you may be able to use the codes as described in the Excel file available on the download section. After the keys are mapped, proceed with the pairing sequence as described below.

Pairing RE·BL with the PS3
Make sure the RE·BL is completely turned off, if batteries are used remove these also (See manual on how to remove or replace batteries).

Turn on your PS3 system and use your PS3 controller to select the following option:
Settings > Accessory Settings > Register BD Remote

Firmware 1.23 (Software 1.19) or higher:
Power on the RE·BL by inserting either batteries, DC adaptor or USB power. When power is applied, the red LED will start flashing to indicate that the RE·BL is entering auto-pairing mode. Do not press any key, RE·BL and the PS3 will automatically pair, and the screen changes to Registering within a few seconds.

Older firmware:
Power on the RE·BL by inserting either batteries, DC adaptor or USB power. When power is applied, the red LED will start flashing to indicate that the RE·BL is ready to be paired. Within the first 20 seconds, press and hold the ‘2’ button on the remote until the PS3 changes screen to Registering.

Now the RE·BL is paired with the PS3 and ready for use!
